Terms and Conditions

By using this website, you signify and acknowledge that you have read the “terms of use”. You also agree that these terms are binding and form a legal contract between you and Home from Home, whether you have read them or not. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access this website. These are the standard terms that apply to all persons and these terms of use contain herein our terms and conditions for bookings, payments, services, privacy and data use policy, as well as intellectual property rights.

The apartment rates are charged per apartment and per night and no additional services or meals are included. Breakfast can be included as part of the meal at the four star Icon luxury apartments at the guests’ cost.

Check in and Check out
Guests can check in anytime from 14:00 until 00:00 (except in Icon where we have a 24-hour reception desk) and check out is at 10:00. Please leave the keys at reception when you are checking out.

Bookings, changes and cancellations
50% of your booking total shall be deducted off your credit card at the time of the booking. The balance has to be paid upon Check-in. Free cancellation for up to 7 days prior to arrival. 50% cancellation penalty if cancelled within 7 days of arrival. 100% cancellation penalty if cancelled on day of arrival or in case of a “no show”.

No Shows
When guests do not arrive All “no shows” are cancelled the following morning unless there are extraordinary circumstances which resulted in the guest checking in later than the anticipated arrival date. These are handled on a case by case basis and the individuals have to provide evidentiary support to be accommodated at any of the four self-catering hotels on any other dates outside their reserved dates of arrival. Guests that are unable to check in on the set date of arrival are to notify reservations on +27 21 418 2821.

Bookings and discounts
From time to time Home from Home provides prospective and regular guests opportunities to take advantage of discounts and specials available during certain periods of the year. Guests who wish to receive these discounts have to book directly with us and not work through third party affiliates. Only direct bookings made either through our website, www.homefromhome.co.za or by calling our reservations line +27 21 418 2821, qualify for the advertised discounts and specials.

Payment methods
Accepted credit cards American Express, Visa, Euro/MasterCard, Diners Club. Home from Home reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. We can refuse accommodation to any person without notice and reserve the right to cancel a booking without payment or refund if the booking was paid through fraudulent means, or where the booking was amended or tampered with by any person or third party affiliate, and where no proof that the person checking in is the person named on the booking confirmation.

Children and extra beds
All children under two years are charged ZAR 250 per stay for children’s cots/cribs. There is no capacity for extra beds in the apartments. Additional services are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.

You may not bring the following into the apartment or the complex: pets (except for registered guide dogs). pillows, bed sheets, duvets or other items of bedding. any electrical appliances and/or equipment for heating and/or cooking purposes. Home from Home reserves the right to remove or confiscate any of the above items found in any apartment without notice to you and to charge you for any costs incurred for taking such action.

Radios, CDs, tapes, television/DVD sets, musical instruments, etc. shall not be played in such a manner as to cause a nuisance to adjoining apartments and sections. At the Marina Residential, guests are requested to keep noise levels down between 23:00 and 7:00 nightly and between 14:00 and 16:00 on Saturday and Sunday and public holidays. Rowdy and boisterous behaviour and excessive noise, including ball games, parties and “braaiing”/barbeque are not permitted in the apartment, pool areas, or on the common property, balconies, passages, or in the basement parking areas.

In keeping with South African law, Home from Home has a NO SMOKING policy. Guests cannot smoke in the apartments or on the hotel grounds marked with a “no smoking” sign.

Right of Admission
Please note Home from Home reserves the right to ask that you leave the hotel and remove your belongings from the premises without any payment or refund to you, if we are of the opinion, that the apartment has been used in a reckless manner, which could result or has resulted in damage to the premises or compromised the safety of the hotel premises, hotel guests and any other person and/or the Home from Home brand.

Additional services
Home from Home provides additional services such as pre-arrival grocery shopping, airport transfers and car rental, personal laundry and dry cleaning services, which can all be arranged at a cost. These services are charged separately and are not included into the rate charged for the apartment rented out to you. You are responsible for any damage to the allocated apartment or the complex property caused by you or any person in your party (irrespective of whether or not the person is staying at the hotel). Home from Home reserves the right to retain your credit card or debit card details and to charge the cost of such damage to property to your account. Home from Home is also well within our rights to institute legal action against you without notice.

Limitation of liability
Home from Home is liable for the provision of the rooms and any other additional services as specified in the booking confirmation in accordance with the terms and conditions. Home from Home cannot be held liable to provide services in cases beyond our control and for accidents, death, acts of God, flood, riot, theft, or even acts of neglect. We are not responsible for any loss or damage to property during the guest’s stay. Guests should obtain the appropriate insurance to cover any loss to property or person.

Privacy and data protection
Home from Home will keep all your personal information provided when you make your booking. By booking with us you consent that your personal information can be disclosed to our head office, self-catering hotels, branches, officers and associates and any other service provider or third party, to enable us to provide the products and services on offer. The personal information will generally be used for the following purposes:
Reservations – Process your booking and to finalise any administrative requirements. Guests Services – For customer support services and to measure guest satisfaction. Marketing – To send you information about products and services. You may unsubscribe to these at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link.
If we are requested to provide this information by government and law enforcement officials, please note that Home from Home would legally be obliged to send through your personal information. Given the nature of the travel and tourism industry, this could mean that your personal information might be sent between different countries. Guests can be assured that we will work to the best of our ability to ensure that your personal information is not compromised or shared unnecessarily without your written consent.

This website is owned by Home from Home therefore all features including but not limited to imagery, design, and applications are the property of the company and the content/web developers. You may use this website for personal and non-profit-making purposes subject to the relevant copyright laws. Home from Home owns all branding and this may not be used or reproduced in any other format without written consent from the company.

Home from Home reserves the right to make changes to the published rates for hotel stays and additional services. While every effort is made to ensure that the content on the website is current and up-to-date, where changes may occur due to operational requirements, the information provided by Home from Home’s management will take precedence. We are not responsible for any direct, unintended, substantial or punitive losses and damages (namely loss of income, reputation or data) caused by the use of the website or for any errors, inconsistencies or omissions made about the products or services. We are also not liable for any information contained on third party sites linked to this website. The inclusion of these links does not mean that Home from Home endorses, partners or works with any of the organisations, websites or any other related entities or websites.

Changes to these terms and conditions
We reserve the right to cancel or change these terms and conditions and content featured on the Home from Home website without prior notice.
