BOAT, YACHT & CATAMARAN CRUISES
Shop 5 on Quay 5, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
Imagine a beautifully warm day in Cape Town, with the coastline and Clifton Beach as your ideal sailing destination… having lunch over the deck of a yacht, taking a dip in the waters in front of Clifton Beach… or sipping champagne at sunset, with the city as your backdrop. Waterfront Charters at the V&A Waterfront offer various packages and sailing tours around the peninsula. The Clifton Beach package is a real delight as Serenity One departs the V&A Waterfront at noon. After carving her way along the magnificent Atlantic coastline to Clifton Beach, within minutes of effortless sailing, the iconic white beaches will be seen. Once there, the skipper drops Serenity One’s anchor at a protected spot off the beach, and the indoor/outdoor theme of the catamaran provides the perfect platform for guests to enjoy the splendor of one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
Guests can laze on the yacht’s trampoline, or enjoy a drink at the bar. An easy access swim platform means graceful exits from the sea with a fresh water shower to sluice off the salt; cool music will provide background entertainment, and equally cool crew members will ensure that every guest requirement is complied with, served up always with smiles.
Guests who want to enjoy an offshore meal whilst at anchor are encouraged to bring along a picnic basket; Serenity One’s bar will make sure all their thirst quenching requirements are met. After a leisurely hour basking in the sun and envious looks from the beach-bound crowd, the skipper will order the sails hoisted again, and Serenity One will once again harness the elements to take the guests back in style to the V&A Waterfront. For sun worshipers, the open decks offer an unequaled sailing experience, for those wanting a little respite, the covered cockpit area is protective and embracing, but still with glorious views.
The three hour Clifton Cruise on Serenity One is an experience every Cape Town visitor (or resident!) should experience. If you are thinking about booking self-catering accommodation in Cape Town, an ideal stay will be at Marina Residential, our beautiful serviced accommodation at the V&A Waterfront.
Table Bay Cruise
The bay is rich with history and marine life. Whales, dolphins, penguins, seals, giant sunfish and a huge variety of pelagic bird life live and play just beyond the breakwater. Enjoy this natural wildlife with Table Mountain as the backdrop on board the a luxury cruise catamaran.
Sunset Chamapagne Cruise
The Sail Boats Esperance and Serenity One, follow the wind for these scheduled cruises. They do not offer a specific destination. Cape Town’s typical Summer Wind blows from the South East and the boats use the motors to leave the Harbour and then they sail across Table Bay towards Milnerton lighthouse, then return to the protection of Granger Bay in the lee of Table Mountain to watch the sun set, and then motor back to the Waterfront. The Wind and sea conditions change daily so the routing and style of trip also changes to meet the conditions.
